What type of earrings? Pearced you can make a bullinboard covered in cloth & stick back into it like thumb tack. For the ones use picture frame & put wire in to hang earrings on. Good luck.
I put a towel cut to the size of a tin box in the bottom of the box and use that. Earrings will not slide around. Use a contrasting color - not grey or yellow and they will be easy to see. I have two boxes and keep the silver separated from the gold.
My husband bought me hangers at walmart for ear rings and matching necklaces. I have it on the wall in our bedroom where it is convenient for me. I hang the matching ear rings above the necklace. See the photo:
