a friend rescued a small buffet from a thrift shop for me to use as a microwavestand. Doors and hinges were treated with WD 40 and now it's like new. -

Great stuff! Bubble gum or tar on your carpeted car floorboards? WD-40 will get it off. I've used it on car upholstery too with wonderful results. I recommend testing it first on an inconspicuous place before going all out with it.
