Drywall was just installed.
It needs more mud and feathering out.

S. Moran, Put spackle tape asnd spackle it, then sand it. You might have to spackle again. Then paint. Aloha!
the ridge is caused by the two pieces of drywall butted up together, not the tape or mud. how do u fix that?
Where they are hung in the center of the wall? Drywall is hung horizonally . If you have a ridge, it is where it was taped & mudded, the mud is too thick or wasn't sanded properly. if it is a dip, you need more mud & resand.
