How do you repair loose taping on drywall?

by Meri
My house was built in 1993 and a lot of the tapping from the drywall is loose. I have it in several rooms and unfortunately, mostly in the vaulted ceiling area's (high up there!!)

I have felt this pain. Continue to feel this pain.

The drywall finisher did not put enough joint compound between the tape and the drywall. The only fix (besides arson) is to remove it and install new tape with new drywall joint compound. I've done a lot of this in my house and it never comes back. If the ceiling is too high for you to work comfortably, hire a pro. They are very practiced at doing this sort of thing, much faster than you or I, so the cost should be quite reasonable.
