How effective are the screen patches for repairing holes in drywall?

    I have used them. It just takes some time to get it smoothed out. My walls are textured, so I used the spray-on texture after.

    I have used them for door knobs (on my son's bedroom walls) that went through the sheetrock. Actually made them repair their own holes, they were early teens then. Worked very well, easy to use, and the boys did a nice job. Still there 15+ years later.

    Depending on how big your hole is, it can be a relatively quick and easy fix with screen patch!

    They work very well on smaller holes - less than a foot square. After that they are hard to keep firm and take forever to dry enough to finish and paint. They also work best if you have a flat wall finish. If your wall is textured, it's hard to match the surfaces unless you have experience texturing.
