Currently I'm renting a home that was built in the 40's, and of course the garage is not insulated. During the only 2 seasons we have in Chicago (cold and hot (also referred to as construction)). The house is separated from the garage with a mudroom. I've found that when new homes are being built or even older homes being remodeled; they always throw away all the scraps. I will stop by and speak to the boss if I can come by and take the scraps.
    --- Free insulation!

If the shed was hand built the you should be able to purchase the rolls of insulation to put between the 2x4s. I would then use plastic covering attached with a staple gun. If it's a newer one from a big box store I'm not sure what the inside looks like so I can't help. Yes Chicago, Cook County crookedpeople in charge. High taxes and unbalanced budgets. I grew up there and didn't know peace until I moved to suburbs. We have the Metra you know. Beautiful wide streets with trees and yards that people maintain. Just saying Chicago is just not what it used to be. Anyway good luck with shed.
