Old wall-paper peeling loose

Question

I have an old home and it is filled with old wall paper and some is coming loose I do not want to pull it off, is there a way to paste the wall paper back in place?

It depends on how well you can do it, so you can't notice the glue job. I'd go clean, and hang new paper.

There is a glue that is made specifically for open seams in wallpaper. Just lift up on the wallpaper and add some of the glue to the paper, press it back on the wall and roll over the seam or edge with the hard plastic roller that comes with the glue. Works great.

Hello. They do sell a wall paper repair adhesive that should work. I would look at your local home improvement store.

Caution on the Mod Podge... it's more permanent than wallpaper paste. Do you want that paper forever?

Visit a paint shop (Sherwin Williams or such) they HAVE adhesives for this.

Paper has 'memory', meaning is will spring back up if just pasted. So,

buy wallpaper paste. You can order online or any big box store sells.
use a Q-Tip (take the cotton off) and push the glue into where the paper has lifted.
use a damp sponge (use a new, clean sponge) and smooth down.
use a paper towel to wipe dry
buy painter's tape and tape down. Make sure there is no excess wallpaper paste where you tape.
wait at least 12 hours and gently remove the tape.

If wallpaper has come loose in spots or places that are not in seams, it's a little trickier to repaste, but it can successfully be done. Farm supply stores have them, so get a small syringe with about an 18 or 20 gauge needle. Next get some premixed wallpaper paste & thin i cup at a time to a ratio of 3 parts paste to 1 part warm water. Fill syringe with that paste (check to make sure paste will pass thru needle, if not thin by adding only 1 teaspoon warm water to 1 cup paste until it does). Then in center of a design & loose area, inject a small amount of paste. Gently smooth or push paste around & into edges of bubble where loose, adding more if needed, until area once again sticks to wall. Wipe repaired area gently with clean damp sponge then let dry.
