good day. i would like to seek an utmost advice. our bedroom's wall if faced directly to sunlight in the afternoon. Because of this, our rooms gets really hot, but we do not prefer putting on aircon due to some allergies. Is there a way to reduce the heat passing thru our wall? when we touch the wall, heat can be felt.

Hope you can give advice for ang DIY that could help. thank you.

That's so frustrating. It sounds like adding insulation will help with your problem.
This way it will slow down the heat seapage and redirect it! best of luck!

Try hanging thermal insulated curtains from ceiling to floor. Even where there is no window. If you have a window, cover it with aluminum foil...ugly but it works.

Have an insulation company come and do a free home estimate. They have technology to see what walls have insulation and where there are blind ( empty) spots. We had cold spots especially in our kitchen, they saw that most of one wall had no insulation and above windows in livingr also lacked insulation. Also, changing the filter on furnace monthly for allergies will help for central heat/aircon and if wall unit, there are filters in there that should be washed each month also. Hope this helps

Thanj you for your advice. I am also an environmentalist thus I would also like to avoid using aircon as this really consumes much electricity. :)

Can you plant something tall to shade that outside wall? Maybe large sun flowers, they can get 10 - 14 feet tall. You get shade & good eats from seeds.
