Can the blades on a ceiling fan be changed to a longer size?

I would talk to the fan people at Lowes or Home Depot. Or call a local fan shop and speak to them...Helpful Reply -

I agree with Dholley, I would recommend replacing the fan altogether. Even if it were safe to replace the blades, it will certainly cost more then a new fan.Helpful Reply -

The blades are easily changed, but the extra load on the fan motor could make it heat up if the blades are too long. Blades 2 or 3 inches longer could be bought at Lowes, etc. but keep a eye on the fan motor temperature by feeling it if used for long periods.Helpful Reply -
