The Burl Has been treated with Rit Fix for some dry rot and also epoxy in some places. Is Arm-R-Seal a good finishing product For this project? If not, what do you recommen?

Everyone who does wood working has their own opinions. People who like this Arm-R-Seal really like it including some who use it for fine furniture.

There have been so many advances in coatings over the last couple of decades I think that you would be hard-pressed to find one that does not provide superior protection and durability under most uses.

You didn't mention your final use for the cherry burl, and I have been a fan of Waterlox since junior high shop class. For most projects that I do it is just not worth the expense. Minwax poly holds up great for a fraction of the price and it is available most everywhere that sells paint.

I prefer Minwax PolySeal for real wood. You already have so many things going on that wood, I suggest you keep it simple. 😇

Sounds like a fine idea to use as a topcoat.
