How do you reglue veneer that has gotten wet & lifted?

Hi Cathy, clamps and wood glue has always worked for me for veneer that is pealing off. Make sure and get it inside where its warm before you attempt anything. A big hunk of wood (or even a big book) that is at least as big as the veneer you're gluing down clamped over it after you apply the glue should do the trick.Helpful Reply -

i am probably wrong, but at least I’d try. I would dampen veneer until it was pliable. Weld Bond Glue is water soluble. I’d try to get it under veneer. Put weights on to flatten and hold down. Let dry, then let cure for another day or two. I’ve used that glue to glue glass together. Where I heard about it. Much better than Elmer’s and is used like it. Luck to you. You can use a carpenters glue, just make sure the area is clean and no residue remains.Helpful Reply -

Yea use wood glue and makes sure you have something to put on top of the veneer where you repaired it until it drys so it sticks.Helpful Reply -
