for kitchen and dining room chair seats i like vinyl. aka faux leather. . nice and scrub able. other chairs? something tightly woven, and water repellent. if the chairs are going out side, sunbrella fabric. it resists fading.Helpful Reply -

Anything with a tight weave so it won't easily stretch or unravel. Cotton, canvas, even plastic and oilcloth. Have fun!Helpful Reply -

If you have pets or children vinyl is easy to clean. other than that almost any tightly woven fabric will work. have fun and use your imaginationHelpful Reply -
