my dining room table was exposed to heat and now the finish in that area is cloudy white. How do I repair/fix this?

you can have the piece stripped and refinished, or cover it up with a table cloth. I’ve got a table pad protecting the top of my dining room table. Not inexpensive, but very durable.

Pinterest suggests rubbing mayonnaise on the spot. Never tried this myself but what have you got to lose. If this does not work, grab a cloth and wash the mayo off.

Mayonnaise is the quickest. Spread it on the spot liberally, let sit an hour and buff off. May be repeated. I have also used a warm iron and a cloth, this also works well but takes about half an hour to do.

Loreana and Suzanne, you are so correct we owned an "Solid OAK Reproduction store and that is what we did and it did not hurt the finish.I will say do not strip or sand it ,that is unless you are doing the whole table
