That’s what I call the zipper they left on my ceiling ! From one side to the other side. They said it was going to stay that way !
How can I cover this mess maintenance did and will not fix!

Assuming that you are in a rental unit, is that correct? If so, this is between you and your landlord. You certainly don't want to be adding anything to the structure of a building that you do not own without the owner's express consent. -

If you plan to something about it make sure you get permission from management in writing as with any improvements. You can jeopardize your security deposit. Is the "zipper" like a bump or is it flat with the ceiling? -

Visit your local Ace Hardware, they have spray texture that you can apply yourself in light, wide sweeps to gradually fade away this eye sore. (left to right) This would be the least expensive way to fix this. Best of luck.
