How can I treat my wooden walkway so it'll have a tread when it's icy?

I fell on it a few years ago and have been looking for a way to add a tread or texture of some sort to it. It is pretty flat, interconnects out parking area to our house for my mom's power wheelchai. But when we get ice it get dangerous! Don't want to use salt as it will eat up the wood. Any suggestions?

There are,sanded strips you can add. Also there are sand products you can add to paint.
There are anti-slip additives you can put in paint or stain.

*Old tires
*Heated cover- placing a heated cover first, then lifting it up when ready to use.
*slippery- water and or snow just kind of slides on it.
*curved and or slightly bent where the snow will just fall off it.
