Buy a pressure regulator

The water company controls the water pressure at the meter.

Purchase a water pressure regulator. Residential should be about 40 PSI

  We already did that and it blew the cold water valve in our kitchen, thank God it happened right before we walked out the door to go on vacation. We had a blast of water shooting to the ceiling

  If your pressure is 40 psi and your plumbing failed; you have other issues.
  I do turn my water supply off when I leave for more than a few days.
