Great fix from Ann, I am embarrassed to say I used a safety pin on the inside of the pants to hold up the zipper. Just pinned it across the bottom of the slider to physically prevent the zipper from opening-all anyone could see was a bar.
I have a plastic chair mat under my computer desk that the edges are curled and won't lay flat. Have been unable to bend them back as the plastic is hard
