Has anyone else bought the Bell and Howell disk solar lights ? I seen them ads on t v . I had to have a couple for my flower garden. .no wires no batteries needed on tv and on box .bought one box today at dollar General . Open box read directions takes batteries. .says to take out battery when storing in winter . Makes me wonder about ad on tv and on box . Maybe I miss something. .

Generally the batteries for solar lights are a part of the construction of the light itself... The "Bell and Howell" ones you bought at the Dollar General may be an older design that did not perform to expectations

Thanks for the info . I have several solar lights that I love and use batteries . When I seen the ad on tv said no batteries and on the box no batteries needed I thought that was what it meant .no batteries needed. .I guess it didn't sink in my brain fast enough .I just thought it seem like false advertising to me .thanks again everyone for the answers. .

The solar cells recharge the batteries during the day. At night the lights work off the batteries. I have seen the ad but really didn't pay much attention to it. Don't like any of the "As Seen On TV" stuff.
