Do you have 65 to 72 additional inches inside or outside the opening? If not, the barn door will not work as one piece. If you have 36 inches on each side you can consider doing two doors that meet in the middle. Good luck. P.S. The hangers for the doors are no longer cheap.Helpful Reply -

I agree that the prices for the hardware for barn doors has gone way up!As with anything popular and in demand, a lot is make outside North America which can make the quality questionable and contacting the manufacturer regarding defects, refunds impossible... Barn doors became designer's darlings because they were rustic and inexpensive... not so cheap now.Helpful Reply -

I'm afraid barn doors are such a distinctive look that they will soon date their use to a specific time. Can't you use two separate doors that are held in the middle like French doors?Helpful Reply -

Make your own barn doors from tutorials. I made my own hardware as well from 4 inch pulleys from HD. You'll need a flat bar long enough to run the width of the door plus half as wide on each side (for double doors), plus flat bar to mount on the front and back of each pulley to mount the door. You can spray paint them any color. There are also videos on how to make them. I made barn door shutters for my windows and they are great...and no $150 per unit for hardware!Helpful Reply -
