How do I fix these openings in the door?

Insects are entering through our entryway doors...what is the best solution for this?

we use weather strip. Its not just insects, its cold air coming through when it gets cold. measure the spaces then go get some.

To do it properly you need to remove door and frame work cut the door jambs 3/8' longer than the doors (so you can fit weatherstripping underneath) and re install with doorjambs sitting on the floor this will give you trim mold problems and will require wider trim all around....that's the proper way to retro fix this. You could also cut blocks for attachment to bottom of door ( I would attach with stainless steel screws as they wont rust) and leave room for weatherstripping. Glue & screw the block in and affix weatherstripping to bottom MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE PROPERLY.... @ LEAST 2-3 TIMES

Yeah you're right I'm going to have to remove them and build up the bottom ;-/ was hoping it would be a simple fix but oh well lol is the best way the first method?

I think it's mainly going to be getting the tools to complete the project, it sounds like a simple enough fix, I've never done anything like it but from your instructions it doesn't sound like something I can't manage on my own...I really appreciate your help!

call any of your local door & trim company's and ask for an insulation wedge, it is a small wedge shaped peice of door weather stripping that is sticky backed. We use them all the time on double doors.

The easiest way would be to cut pieces of thick cardboard the size of each bottom area of each door & attach it to the door by using screws or tacks & black duct tape over it to fill in the gaps evenly all around. The black duct tape will make it less noticeable also. :)
