How do I replace attic stairs in my hallway?

There are complete attic stair kits that you can get to replace the entire system but in the meantime for safety you might be able to fit a latch hook sliding lock on it. I'd inspect it thoroughly to determine what the weakness is and perhaps you could remove the whole thing, repair the hardware or wood and replace it.Helpful Reply -

Unless this is a pretty new pull-down stair, I would opt for a new one installed by professionals. Sounds like the stair itself is wobbly and that's not good!Helpful Reply -
