Wouldn't be better to just ask the people at a tile store? They are the experts in all that stuff.. Also people are loving all that wood looking tile planks.. I bet they are not colored all the way through if they are they are not with wood grain. Looks awesome but chips will happen. You are best to plan for the chips than not. Just so everyone knows there are some awesome vinyl floors out there now. High quality and very durable. So real looking like people can't tell it from ceramic/porcelain tile.
You may want to consider acid stained concrete if your house is on a concrete pad. It can be done to look like tile and is cheaper than tile. It lasts forever with very minimal maintenence and cost. Later it can be covered if you need a change.
Wow! Never saw ceramic wear down like that! Sorry, I assumed it was vinyl. The other folks are right...porcelain tile as color throughout.
