How do I attach tiles to a wall for use as a over sink back splash?

I have enough 12x12 terracotta tiles left over from redoing my kitchen floor...I would like to attach them to the wall over my sink and stove as a back splash. How do I do this without having to stand and hold the tile in place while the glue takes hold?

It can be done using the same type of mastic as any ceramic tile. They will have to set longer before putting up the next row though. -
