I do lots of crafts and would love to repurpose my old silverware chest - the wooden ones with the dividers in them.

My hubby leaves papers all over the coffee table. I gutted a silverware box and it now holds the paperwork, neatly and out of sight.

Take some foam roll it over with fabric perhaps velvet and put your rings in it. Here is one person's take on it:. https://youtu.be/YHrUEWNcW9k
Also you could get it and fill it with pencils, papers, cards envelopes, pens and stampers for a stationary kit, could even give it as a gift if you painted it and embellished it.

I used one to make a case for a set of vintage chess pieces. Removed all of the insides and used foam with cutouts for each chess piece covered foam with velvet.

You can also get it and then line it and use it to put the TV remotes in. Or you can keep your nail polish etc in it. Or stationary or word puzzle books.

If the sections are wide enough, your silverware chest might be a good scissors chest. If your pinking shears are too wide, however, you can screw tiny cup hooks into the lid from the inside, 3 per pair of scissors. If the hooks are not large enough, use twist ties to hold each pair of scissors. If the cup hooks screw through the top of the lid, you can lightly or thickly pad the lid and cover it with a pretty fabric. Inside the box you should be able to fit quite a few pairs of craft scissors, and embroidery scissors and other sharps. If you need to replace the satin or velvet inside, do that before you put in the cup hooks, but after you paint what you choose, inside and outside. Add any other decorations or embellishments you wish, including a nice small knob to help open the box.
As you redo this box, please take before, during, and after photos and write complete directions and Post on Hometalk.com. 😇

Jewelry holder. Or jewelry supply makings holder.
