I would just donate them. Put them up for free on FB marketplace. It’s probably not worth it to upcycle and someone else could use them
You can always buy slipcovers for a budget new look.
If you want to keep them get slipcovers. Otherwise, donate them.
Hello the most common ways to update are slip covers and throw pillows. They can really transform the sofa into a new appearance.
I'd consider taking off the fabric / fluff etc. And seeing what the interior support looks like. Might make a great opportunity for an outdoor seating set with some paint and outdoor cushions.
Hello again,
Are they Wood frame with upholstered cushions or Metal frAME OR tOTALLY UPHOLSTERED?
Hello Ceronio, here is once cool idea, for outdoors
IF your couch is good quality I would consider reupholstering. it's not cheap but you know the quality of what you have. We have an extra long sofa bought almost 50 years ago. I have had it reupholstered 3 times. It's better than the "new" furniture we bought a few years ago that went to the thrift store after only 9 months. Fortunately our extra long girl had been sent to the kid's college house and I was able to get it back! In the second reupholstering I had it totally redesigned from a frumpy attached 4 cushion back to continuous tufted back.
You need to know who is doing the work and IF they able to reimagine.....

You can use new slip covers to give new life
Unfortunately not alot of other uses for them, Most are made of wood and fabric, so out door uses arent a good idea. If they are in good shape they can be donated to the less fortunate....
I was just thinking the same thing. I've decided to keep the old cushions and use them as forms and insides for my outdoor sofa. I'll recover them in Sunbrella fabric, since new would cost upwards of $600. I'm also going to keep the cushion fabric, since mine is a darling cotton floral, to make napkins and pillows.
