What to do with vintage handkerchiefs?

Question

I have a tin with about 2 dozen vintage linen handkerchiefs. Some have lace and many have delicate embroidery. Any ideas of what I could do with them? They are so pretty, it's a shame they are hidden away.

Hi Sandra,

You could select a few that go together and frame them by using double sided tape. Would look good in cottage décor.

Sew them together and make a pillow. You can also use cute fabrics and handkerchiefs together. I would put the pillow on a bed so no one sits on it. I also like the idea of making a quilt using them that way. How about putting them on a lamp shade.

You could make a pillow out of them. Sew old Jen pockets to your pillow material. Then arrange your handkerchiefs in the pockets! If you had some old jewelry pins you could also add them. A great conversation piece.

If oyu quilt, you could put them together with a border and make a quilt. It would be beautiful.

HiSandra, My sister glued some lace on the inside of a shadow box after she painted the entire box a dark brown and it looked great. There is a shelf inside the box and she glued lace on that too. The contrast between the brown and the white lace was really pretty. She put a couple of small nick-knacks on the shelf. The entire thing was beautiful. Hope this idea helps.

You can put lavender in the middle and tie up all the ends with a bow! sachets and the handkerchiefs stay in one piece! Have fun!
