Replacing an old koi pond question

we are buying a house that has an old koi pond built into the ground (cement structure) and I don't want koi :(( any ideas of what to do with it without taking out the cement structure? thinking of drilling holes for drainage and filling with dirt and making it a big planter, any pictures or ideas are welcome:))

I was thinking - just fill with rocks/gravel etc. at bottom - then dirt - and grow anything you want (you'll need the gravel etc. for drainage!) -

a garden is a great idea, so is the fountain idea. It depends on where the structured pond is located on your property. If it is visible, you can raise the area with gravel, sand and flagstone and make a patio area. -
