I've seen them made into pet beds, wall shelves, and bookcases.

If you have pets, you can add a pillow and make a pet bed.

Add casters or slides for under the bed storage.

Hang on the wall for shelves.

For underbed storage, add mini wheels to the bottom, a handle to the front, and staple some heavy fabric at the back of the drawer to cover the top when you roll it under the bed.

If you bed is too low, you can add leg extensions or make your own from a 4x4 chunk of wood and use a hole saw to make a depression on top for the legs to sit into.
