As the soap smell is usually embedded into the plastic of the container, and is very difficult to eliminate, it is not recommended to re-use the container for any foods, or items made of fabric or plastic that will quickly take on the soap smell. -

You can store anything that you want in them, other than food. It is good for small toys, extra sponges, rags. whatever. I would thoroughly wash it out and rinse really well and rinse again with vinegar to make sure any soap or anything still in the container is gone. -

They would make great storage containers in the garage. Everything from soup to nuts. Be sure to label what's inside.
