DIY Kitchen Drawer Dividers

I wanted to add dividers to my kitchen drawers, to help control the chaos! And also to help curb the colourful language that mealtime can sometimes elicit from me. I wouldn’t say I’m savvy in the kitchen, but I know enough that when things start to cook (burn), finding the utensil I need is time sensitive!I saw a few tutorials online, where they built inserts using ¾” or 1” wood, and simply dropped them into the drawer. And while they seemed easy enough to duplicate and looked really great, I couldn’t help but think that all that thick wood was using up a lot of valuable space in the drawers. So I decided to try something a little different.My first step was to lay all the drawer contents out on the countertop, into groups. Once I had a clear view of what I had, I purged many items. Seriously, four soup ladles, who was I trying to kid?

Super Easy DIY Ladder Pot Rack for Under $40

My husband thought I was a little bit crazy when I suggested suspending a ladder in the kitchen and hanging pots and pans off of it... ladder pot racks just weren't something he had ever even heard of, let alone seen.But he admitted that I have a pretty good track record when it comes to home décor, so he was willing to hear me out and see what he could do to help.We happened to have a ladder already on hand from when he made blanket ladders last fall, so we held it up in the kitchen a bunch of different ways until he could see what I was going for. It was obvious that it would work and look amazing, but first we would need to cut it down a little to make it a) look more like a pot rack and less like a ladder and b) fit above the island in the middle of the kitchen.For our pot rack, I simply cut 2 feet off the blanket ladder to make it 4 feet; but I'll cover a do-it-from-scratch routine here in case you missed the how to make a blanket ladder post. How do I cover wire shelves so everything doesn’t fall over?

My apartment has wire shelves in the refrigerator as well as in the pantry closet. Everything I place on the shelves ends up toppling over and falling through. What can I use that is DIY, a.k.a. free if possible or very inexpensive, that can remedy this? At the moment, I am using large low-sided cardboard boxes from the grocery store, the kind of holds flats of berries in. But it is not ideal.
