What kind of frog is this -Cuban or other?

I've been told Cuban frogs are very bad because they eat native frogs. I can't find a real comparison between good/bad frogs. My yard is full of creatures so I normally let nature take care of things.

It is hard to tell based on the photo you submitted. The frog is very small.

Oh I know it isn't the best pic but the best I could do. He is gone today. If he is the bad one I hope he went back to Cuba. I try to respect nature to take care of things but man gets involved and then there is a problem that is worse @Janet Pizaro.

@Sherrie Slaboda It's hard to tell based on the pic, but it certainly looks as if it might be a Cuban tree frog! If you see it again, maybe you could catch it, & call a local zoo, fish & game or a local college that might want to study it or something to take it. Here is a link that provides some information & other links to identify Cuban frogs. http://www.wec.ufl.edu/extension/wildlife_info/frogstoads/osteopilus_septentrionalis.php

it's either barking tree frog or green frog. Some varieties have suction cup finger tips and can change color. this is a cordiline tropical plant which nurseries grow in Florida. If you bought this from a home improvement store it comes from Costa Nursery. you can go to their site for more information on your plant. I merchandise these in New England stores and get this frog all the time shipped in the plants. Costa also ships small lizards Gecko's in their plants too. I catch them for my grandson for his collection. Costa a national shipping company frequently have frogs and lizards in their tropicals but nothing else. They live and breed in the tropicals on their farm. They probably give tours as well.

@J Rigby the plant I posted with the frog is a propagation, not a new plant. The frog just looked different then my other (many) frogs.

Thank you very much @Katrina Warren. What is your opinion about this frog. Does he kill all the other frogs? You answered this earlier

@Sherrie Slaboda From the photo, it's hard to say with any real certainty. I would look at the size of it's toe pads, & whether it's skin is smooth or bumpy. Large toe pads, & bumpy skin can be indicators of a Cuban frog. The tree frogs I generally find around my house in Fl. are bright green with smooth skin. I love them! :)

I just went to the site and I think the only way I could tell if was a Cuban frog would be by looking at his toes. Thanks again @Katrina Warren.

@Sherrie Slaboda That or if it has bumpy skin, I think most native frogs in Fl. have smooth skin. At least the ones that live around our house are smooth. <3 tree frogs! =)

I do appreciate your posts @Katrina Warren. I'm not going to kill a frog if t looks like a Cuban frog. There are too many that are beneficial and resemble the Cuban frog.

@Sherrie Slaboda I don't blame you, I wouldn't be able to kill one, if I thought it were a Cuban, I'd just have to find someplace that would keep it! :)
