Choosing the right brown

Who thought choosing the right shade of brown could be such a challenge? (Not us, that's for sure!) When we decided to paint the window trim and stair railings in our 70s split a dark brown, we made a few mistakes--but learned a few things about how to find the perfect shade. (Details on the blog.)

Susan H on Apr 03, 2014We painted all of our baseboards and door trim a Behr paint color called Melted Chocolate and it is very nice. Some browns are too red. I also found a dark brown color at Wal Mart that matches perfectly with the dark brown IKEA furniture color. It is called Black India Tea. It looks great on any wood even particle board.
