Readymade Makeover: Banded Window Treatment

Husband wanted to block out the bright early morning sun from south-facing windows.
Wife--with a propensity to overthink-- wanted nice custom-looking treatments that wouldn't break the bank, but couldn't find the precisely perfect thing.
If wife didn't make a decision soon, husband was going to solve the problem himself.
Marriage saved (lol) with store-bought panels and the ability to sew straight lines.
Let's play "I Spy":
I Spy grommeted, thermal lined "raw silk" panels obtained at a ridiculously great price....in a SPOT ON color (to match the unmatchable blue walls)...hung temporarily in the photo above. Can you find them?
No? Then I guess the room WAS dark enough...HA!
HINT:
they're hiding between the windows .)
But even though they were the perfect color, they were too short...this called for some DIY intervention.
I sliced those buggers open and gave the panels a makeover. The process involved adding a coordinating print and fun trim to pick up the other colors in the room...but I had to make them room darkening as well.
Now Hubs can sleep in on Saturdays (as if) and everyone lived happily ever after.
