Did you know that certain plants bear only male or female flowers?

This is useful to know if you are growing Ginkgos, you only want a male because the females produce very stinky fruits, but with hollies, you want females for their beautiful fruit (only one male needed to pollinate)

Flowerscapes Garden Design & Landscaping on Nov 18, 2011I can't resist. I also loved the tips on Typical Mary Ellen and lived for Erica's show. I am so tired of House Hunters,...DIY has some great garden shows like Yard Crashers. Back to Gingko, I fell in love with the tree as a kid when I learned they were "prehistoric" and totally bonded the first time I witnessed the beauty of the carpet of yellow leaves at UGA. Ah, bliss.
