Hey guys! Have you ever just had the urge to try something different? Something totally new that you've never done before? This little wooden shelf, that I picked up at a yard sale, had me itching to test out a new technique.
For whatever reason, I felt this shelf wanted some pizzazz in the form of pattern. But I wasn't convinced a paint stencil would do the trick.
So I used some paper napkins I'd picked up at the grocery store for $2.50 and some Mod Podge. Seriously! Why hadn't I done this before!
The wood grain peaks through - but it's now saturated in all this lovely colour. There's no way I would have ever achieved this level of detail with a stencil on my own.

So there you have it! I'm not even sure where I'm going to put it. Maybe the downstairs bathroom? Perhaps in the sunroom as a plant shelf?

Either way - I love the end results and will likely be trying this trick again! You can see all the details and the full reveal at the link below.

Thanks so much for reading - have a wonderful and 'boho chic' day ;)

I have used the really fancy tissue paper on several projects. A vintage jewelry box took on a whole new life, the pop out panels on a low chest made it look entirely different, and abanged up screen became a leather look accent. I crumple the tissue before applying it with thinned glue, then top with Mod Podge. (No particular reason I do the teo different adhesives. It was just how I was shown to do it a long time ago. Mod Podge was expensive then.)
