If you have space under your bed, I would get an old drawer, add some wheels, and that should solve the problem. There are plenty of examples on Hometalk. Here are some that might help: http://www.hometalk.com/b/1937467/drawers-reused

When I lived in a small place without a linen closet (and very little furniture as well as lack of other storage), I got a couple of plastic garbage cans, added a wooden circle for the 'lid', but then covered the whole thing with a nice large sheet/ table cloth and they were then 'storage' AND bedside tables.

I also have a hassock (foot stool) with lift up lid for storage, this works great for smaller items, I roll sheets and pillow case sets together so easy to find, totes with rollers work for the larger winter items under the bed. On the back of closet door put a bathroom towel holder which holds 4 or 5 rolled towels, roll up your sheets and pillow cases and put them in holder (you could even tie them with pretty ribbon). A hanging vinyl shoe holder (you know the ones that hold around 12 shoes a pouch for each shoe) can work for single rolled up items. Space saver bags are great for seasonal changes. Thanks for letting us share.

I put the whole set (pillowcase, shams, top and fitted sheet in a pillowcase and put between boxspring and mattress.

@Jenna I was going to suggest putting the sheets in the pillow case also lol, great minds think alike. I never thought to put them between the mattress and box spring though, great idea Jenna. Thanks for sharing.

When I switched over from a desktop computer to a laptop I had the computer armoire in my living room. I moved it into the bedroom and it holds all my quilts and linens. Craigslist always has folks getting rid of tv and computer armoires for free or very cheap.

For extra storage space I use wicker chests. They are very deep and hold a lot of linens.

I am a huge fan of the TV armoire, you can now buy them cheap on Craigslist and with a little paint and retrofitting of shelves you have an awesome linen cupboard.

A cedar chest at the foot of the bed holds our sheets and blankets. The chest has a cushion on top so we can sit and put on our shoes. I got the chest in the clearance room at Penneys for $40. Works for us!

Store linens on the shelf of each closet in the rooms where they are used.

This depends on how much room you have in your house but until I had my home redone I used a cabinet with shelves in it top and bottom to hold my linens. It worked great. Hope this helps.

Put the sheets and blankets for each bed in a plastic zippered bag and stow them under the bed they go with.

Put them between the mattress and box springs for each bed. Out of sight, ready and accessible when you need them.

That always made my bed feel lumpy. I prefer the large plastic space bags under the bed.

They sell folding storage boxes for linen and blankets. can also use to store out of season clothes. place them under bed, in the closet, garage or where ever you have room.

Over the years for linen storage I've used toy boxes as ottomans, ottomans with storage, army chest at end of bed for seating, plastic tubs on wheels for under the beds and hung on hangers in a closet. Once i only had some metal shelving so I made a slip cover for the shelves and stored the linen in clothes baskets. Many times I've had to use a variety. Now I have a huge linen closet which hope a into the bathroom and hallway. It's one of the main reasons we bought the house.

Get those plastic bags that you hook up to a vaccuum cleaner hose and suck out all the air. They get as flat as a pancake. Honest! Then slide them under the bed!

Buy (or sew) some pretty pillow shams. Put one set of bedding inside and you're done. Most homes have three set of linens per bed, so one on the bed; one in the laundry and one disguised as a pillow...or two if the laundry is done. Store them right on the bed! How handy is that?!

Bought an old trunk, refinished, wallpapered inside, & use it at foot of bed - large trunk, so one side sheets, other side towels.

Some keep bed linen or blankets under the mattress. Out of the way, but handy on sheet-change day.

An old chest or blanket box used as a coffee table or an ottoman with lift up lid is great for storage. They also make beds that the mattress part lifts up and the base/divan is a storage area. Some sofas have the same idea - lift up the seating and storage under the seats. If your blankets are pretty you could use a blanket rail or ladder and have them on display (some people display quilts this way). An armoire is also another idea. Even an old buffet with the shelves removed would hold a lot of linen or blankets.

I do like the plastic storage bags for comforters. I also think an afghan in a nice basket is such a nice touch in a bedroom or tv room

I used to be a linen hoarder until I moved to a home without a linen closet. I had to limit down to two sets of sheets per bed. The spare set was stored under the bed in a small container. I hung a shelf over the bathroom door in each bathroom to store extra towels and cleaning stuff ( hidden in pretty baskets).

I used dh's highboy or armoire at our cottage. It had 2 shelves on the top (= 3 sections), that we used for sheets, and 3 drawers that we used for towels and face cloths. We kept the beach towels in the garage, near the washer and dryer.

Good tips. I do as Darla does - Under-bed storage containers are great as there is a lot of wasted space under the bed, the stuff is not cluttering up drawers, etc.

i have very small closets, and very small bed rooms. only 1 of the 4 br's has a chair, the others have small chests that are as tall as a chair seat. each bed as 4 set of linens. 2 changes for winter, 2 changes for summer, mix and match the 2 sets for fall and spring. the lines go in the chest.

My husband made me a wooden linen store box, I covered it with lovely wallpaper and stood in the corner next to our wardrobes which made good use of a space.
