Z on Sep 28, 2015Spray paint the frames black and recover the seats with what ever fabric works for where you'll be using them. I'd leave the wood backs as they are though.Helpful Reply

Tonia on Sep 29, 2015If the stools are going to be in the same room I would probably pad and cover the backs of both sets to make them look more uniform. Paint the foot ring on the smaller ones silver so they are matching.Helpful Reply

Reggie on Oct 02, 2015I would add a foam cushion to the ones on the right so that all of the are comfortable. Add piping to the top to match the one on the left, then paint the frames all black or leave the wood unpainted.Helpful Reply

Eileen Silvers on Oct 04, 2015I have stools with and without backs that I have to upholster. I am leaving the ones with the backs the way they are because they are metal. I am using vinyl material on them because they are used in the kitchen. The others are to be used in our Living Room for my grandd kids to use so I haven't decided on what to put on them yet.Helpful Reply

Johnchip on Oct 28, 2015If you paint the metal, use spray paint that is for outdoor grills or motor engines. It will adhere much better and hold up to the foot use.Helpful Reply
