Need suggestions for small bathroom

I have a small 5x8 bathroom with harvest gold fixtures (*tub, sink & toilet), wall paper on the walls, ceramic tile above the tub surround and ceramic tile on the floor. Any suggestions as to how to up-grade this bathroom without removing the fixtures?

There are many options except you need to send in pictures when you need advice. So with that said , remove the wall paper and treat the walls accordingly to repaint.If the tile is in good shape then update with accessories. New towel colors, carpets,etc.

An updated bathroom on a shoestring budget, using your harvest gold fixtures, is probably as not as hard as it sounds. The easiest thing to do is find a shower curtain or fabric (to make your own shower curtain) with gold tones and that will make the harvest gold look intentional. While I don't have gold fixtures, I do have gold tile in the tub area of one of my bathrooms which you can just barely see on the right side of the first photo below. There are also ugly orange-ish terracotta tiles on the floor and I am not able to rip out and replace the tiles in the shower or the flooring right now. My style is "cottagey" so I chose to embrace the gold (and terracotta tiles) by using a French Country look. I used the blue toile shower curtain as my inspiration. When we bought the house, the walls were a pale lemon yellow, so I repainted them a more golden shade of yellow that coordinated with the gold shower tiles better. I've added wrought iron pieces and, picking up the black of the wrought iron, I've used some black, as well as blue, as my accent colors. The only thing that was replaced was the toilet. Everything else was enhanced by just paint or accessories.

You can re-glaze a bathtub. And a different shower curtain does help, if you can't afford to re-glaze it for awhile. Removing wallpaper is not difficult (time consuming though) with a steamer. We had never done it before and decided to buy a $60 steamer at Lowe's for our daughter's new house. (They had lots of wallpaper up.) It took our daughter a few hours to remove wallpaper in the tiny powder room. And she was a novice at it, like us. Our son told us not to try the fabric softener and tool because that didn't work that great for him.

It sounds like my bathroom before I did a renovation on a budget. I removed the wallpaper and painted. 'Re-glazed the tub adding new shower curtains. I'm researching how to paint over the ceramic tile but the things I've done including painting the vanity and decorating with tiles etc. has made a huge difference. Have fun with it.
