Winterizing a plant

How do I bring in a Mandevilla plant to store thru a mid west winter?

    Transplant into a larger pot. Spray for insects.Bring indoors in to a bright location. Keep lightly watered.You will get leaf dropage but this is normal

    I brought mine in last year and placed in a eastern window and watered and it grew long sprouts all winter that I cut off when I took out side last may...It has flowered wonderfully all summer....This year it is going to my basement as my girlfriend puts hers in her garage ,,,prunes it back to about 2 feet tall...and gives it a little water all winter,,so it hibernates but does not die....Good luck..and yes leaf drop age is very normal...I am in Ontario Canada...

      @Kathy Fewster Thanks, it's nice to have options, I think I'll be trying the basement placement as I don't have the space in the house for several outside pots.

    Yes that is why mine is heading to the basement this year....Space...Cold and Dark with about a cup of water a month... It will be outside my laundry room so that should be easy to remember.....good luck ..I'm sure it will be fine...
