Arranging doesn't have to be scary! In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a simple and charming floral centrepiece: perfect for an afternoon tea, bridal shower, luncheon, or The best part? It is totally budget-friendly!
Prepare your flowers by cutting the stems with a sharp knife or floral shears at a 45 degree angle. Lay out your blooms according to length and variety. Wash and rinse your vase or vessel.
Choose a few stems and cross them in the same direction to create a cage for your other blooms.
Add in a few focal (larger) blooms and some filler blooms. Don't worry if they aren't precisely placed yet - you can tweak this sort of arrangement later!
Add in a few more blooms. Try to have a variety of textures and colours (ex: ruffly, spiky, round, conical). Tweak the placement of your flowers.
Using floral tape or an elastic, attach the stems. Cut the overhanging stems to the same length.
Place your flowers in fresh (but not cold) water. You can add some flower food if you'd like. Enjoy your lovely centrepiece! Be sure to check out my blog for more DIY floral arrangements and projects!
