Janet Pizaro on Oct 08, 2015There is a product available called rejuvenate for floors. Home Depot carried this in the past I would highly recommend using this. If they no longer carry this try searching the web/Helpful Reply

Lenore Brereton on Oct 08, 2015I generally just use some dishsoap in a bucket of water...then, I make sure the floor is rinsed well.. and finish with product called 'Future'... this makes the floors really shine.. without any build up or yellowing. I avoid 'Mop and Glow' because it does build up and yellows the floor.Helpful Reply

Cheryl Brouwers on Oct 08, 2015I work with senior citizens and many of them live in places with old linoleum. I get down on my hands and knees with a magic eraser after mopping and you would be amazed at the amount of dirt it removes. You have to decide if this is worth trying on yours or not. These are not new floors I'm using the erasers on, so it hasn't hurt anything. I don't know how it would work on today's flooring.Helpful Reply

Z on Oct 08, 2015I'm not into to having many different cleaners on hand. In my opinion, it's not necessary to have a different cleaner for every different job when one can do so many. If I can't clean it with steam, I usually use blue Dawn dish washing liquid and warm to hot water. Most floors need a good down on your knees scrubbing now and then as mopping alone can often push dirt to the edges of the floor against cabinets. That's when I use a hand steamer, but with vinyl, that's not a good idea. I'd recommend a small stiff bristled hand brush and a mixture of blue Dawn and warm water.Helpful Reply

Cathee on Oct 08, 2015Vim in water.... let it sit on floor for 5 min. Rinse off..... If you put on a couple good coats of floor wax (liquid) once you get them clean it will seal the vinyl so the dirt won't penitrate next time.Helpful Reply

Shari on Oct 08, 2015A STEAM MOP!!!! Mopping used to be my most dreaded chore. Call me crazy but I really don't mind 98% of all housework but I cannot tell you how much I hated getting out the mop and bucket and all the endless rinsing and rinsing and rinsing, and dumping buckets of dirty water...and then when I was done, I didn't even feel like my floor was all that clean afterwards. Buying a steam mop was absolutely the best money I have spent in a long, long time! Steam mopping is so easy--kind of like pushing the vacuum-- and you will not believe how clean your floors will be after steaming them. And there is absolutely no residue or film left behind since you aren't using detergents, cleaners or chemicals of any kind. I did a lot of research before I bought mine and this steam mop had the highest reviews of any steam mops I looked at. http://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-Powerfresh-Steam-White-1940/dp/B0091YYUAM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1393908490&sr=8-2&keywords=bissell+powerfresh It has 3 steam settings. I use Low on my laminate floors, Medium on my vinyl floors, and High on the tile. It comes with 2, reusable/washable pads, although I bought 2 extra sets of pads for a total of 6 pads so I can put on a clean, dry pad for almost every room. That way, I'm not just pushing dirt around. It also comes with a couple "fragrance discs" that fit into a mesh pocket on the inside of the mop pad. However, I don't use them. If I want fragrance, I'll put just a drop or two of my favorite essential oil fragrance on the inside of the mop pad before I put it on. The Powerfresh steam mop also has a 2 year manufacturer's warranty through Bissell, whereas most other companies only offer a 1 year warranty. Remember when I said I didn't feel like my floor was clean after mopping with a traditional mop and bucket? Well, I'm embarrassed to even post this picture but this is the result after I used the steam mop the first time on the *clean* textured vinyl floor in my laundry room. Needless to say, I was shocked and absolutely disgusted what my old mop had been leaving behind. Do yourself a favor and ditch the mop and bucket, or the Swiffer, all the detergents, the stinky white vinegar, and eliminate the need to repeated rinsing. All you need is a steam mop.Helpful Reply

Deanna Mills on Oct 09, 2015I'm 73 years old and love a clean house. I have tried about every cleaner in the store and been disappointed too many times to mention. Some have left a haze, a sticky feel or just doesn't clean as well as I like.. The best and cheapest thing I found and use is ammonia. I get a bucket of HOT water and pour a cup of ammonia in and mop, no rinsing. Trust me, the smell leaves when it dries and your floor is clean. I have never had it to damage the surface of any thing I cleaned with it. Use rubber gloves of course. I have two Shi Tzu's and one has allergies this does not bother her like some soaps with perfumes in other doesHelpful Reply

Kristin Topping on Oct 15, 2015In my view, vinegar and baking soda is the best thing for vinyl floor cleaning. Keeps the floor in top condition by sweeping with a soft brush or vacuuming and regular cleaning with water and a neutral detergent. This is a very simple and cool idea to keep the vinyl floor clean.Helpful Reply
