Super Black Silestone counters, cabinet colour??
I am unsure if I want white as we have 4 young children. Any ideas would be wonderful. Buying new doors is out of the price range currently.

KMS Woodworks on Feb 22, 2013Since you already have painted cabinets you are not committing mortal crimes against wood grain and natural beauty. And since you also mentioned that replacements are not in the budget...you pretty much are limited to painting again. While white might be a cleaning issues with young children a lighter color may do the trick.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Feb 22, 2013@Shekinah Ruston Kromhout - it might be easier to provide input if you could post a pic of the cabinets and the decor around it - don't worry about the clutter, everyone has it. Also indicate if you want to change the wall colour.Helpful Reply

Z on Feb 22, 2013Without photos and knowing you have children my best suggestion would be a medium gray for the base cabinets and a few shades lighter gray for the wall cabinets. You're going to love the Silestone. We've had it for over nine years now and it still looks as beautiful as the day it was installed.Helpful Reply

Laura on Jul 06, 2015We have gray Silestone and white laminate (some peeling~ick!) cabinets with black knobs. Our floors are dark cork. We also have 8 kids and a huge kitchen. Two of the kids wipe all of them every Saturday. They need it more often than that. I love the look of white with the darkish counters and to me it's worth it. Our bathrooms also HAD white cabinets (painted). The one by the back door is hardest to keep clean so I painted it black! If you do white, the glossier the better. Maybe off-white or light gray? I don't know what paint they used on ours but it got kind of gummy in spots and hard to wipe clean. I don't think the paint job was that old. Maybe it was paint quality. What color are your floors? Ours were very very light gray tile and the kitchen was too cold for me so consider the floor when choosing your cabinet color. Oh, and because the kitchen was so white we painted the walls a dark bluish teal.Helpful Reply

Cynthia H on Jul 26, 2015Maybe a light gray would lighten up the cabinets. It's hard to picture without seeing them, but, I did my bathroom cabinets over in gray and was amazed at how it changed the room.Helpful Reply
