B. Enne on May 10, 2015I made a similar one with borax, washing soda and essential oils on my basement carpet which smelled musty for a quite while. I let it sit most of the day, vacuumed and reapplied, leaving it for about 3 hours. 1 year later it still smells clean...I will be reapplying it soon. It has really helped with allergies. I also make a spray with vinegar, rubbing alcohol and essential oils, and use it on my basement sofa and carpet for a quick Febreze-type refresher. It works great.

Nicki Parrish @ Sweet Parrish Place on Jun 10, 2015@Valerie I haven't used it a lot lately because we don't have a dog anymore, but it really helped with pet odors!
