Negative comments

I see hometalk as a site to openly share ideas and tips with others. How do you think it is best to handle those who constantly post negative comments about others ideas that are not helpful to the post only derogatory or argumentative with a commenter? I see this happening more snd more on this site. Ignore them? Try to offer where you are coming from? It so ruins the fun just wondering what the rest of the community thinks?

Hannah V on Oct 09, 2015Hi Moxie! Thanks for taking time to voice your concerns about this issue we take very seriously here at Homealk. We are making a huge initiative here to keep Hometalk a positive and supportive place to share your projects and ideas. We do not allow negative, mean or unconstructive criticism of any sort. So pretty please help us out- when you see one (on your post or another) simple select the "flag" button to the right of the comment. This is anonymous, and will simply make the comment "under review" and hidden from the thread. We at Hometalk are then alerted and take care of it from there. This helps keep negativity at bay and lets people know it is not allowed. It also keeps from comment arguments erupting! Feel free to message me with any questions. :) Happy hometalking!Helpful Reply

Terrie aka Hot Glue In My Coffee on Oct 16, 2015Unlike present company, some people are just plain ole mean! Being a crafter, our projects are extensions of us, kinda like our children. No one wants to be told they have an ugly child, ever. Being from the South I was taught to kill them with kindness and that is what I do. I'm not saying that the mean comments don't hurt my feelings, because they do, however I won't let them get the satisfaction of knowing that their words hurt me. Insensitive and mean people love hiding behind their keyboard, they are cowards. Holler at me when you need a hug! :)Helpful Reply
