@Janet Pizaro A new house has been built just 9 feet from my house. How about some ideas to beautify the space between the houses and create a little privacy.

ok now I understand. Well you have options however not everyone has the same ideas. So with that the only idea I will give you is to go to your local nursery and see what is appealing to you, Once you come up with an idea I will then further give you advice. I am very experienced in gardening but I reside in New York. I will only be to happy to advise once you decide what you like.

Not sure what you want it for?Is it for privacy? Can you tell us how much sun you get in the spot? Also, what type of soil do you have?Is it sandy, has a lot of clay, after a good rain, does the space you plan to plant in ,does it drain well or does the water sit on top for a day or two? can give you lots of suggestions if we have a better idea of what you want to do.

@Funnygirl, itis the eastern side of the house, and we get only about an hour of sunlight there, now. The soil is quite good and drains well. We've had Azaleas, an Hydrangea, Day Lilies and Irises there for years, but obviously, they'll have to be moved. We would like to create some privacy and beauty, too. What shade loving shrubs and plants would do well there, and what in the world could ever bloom there?

Lana, is the total space between your homes 9 feet, or is that just from your foundation to the property line?
