Vintage vanity makeover

My little sis wanted a makeup vanity for her room for her birthday. They're expensive! I found this one on Craigslist for $25 & gave it a makeover. It had a rough texture to it because of age & wear, so I had to get creative with the finishes. I used chalkboard paint for the top which is great for going over rough textures. I painted the rest of it white as I normally would, but I went over the top with a "sealer" made of Mod Podge & silver glitter. (I left the drawers & most of the vanity shelf top plain white because the texture of the wood was fine there & I thought glitter on the entire piece would've been too much.). When you add glitter to mod podge & brush it on, it seals the piece & disguises the uneven texture of the wood. The Mod Podge dries clear, leaving the glitter behind. It's really pretty when it catches the light, but it's subtle enough so the vanity doesn't look too childish.
