How to make countertops w/o going into expenses

Is there anyone out there that can create a countertop or turn and old drab countertop into a gorgeous one?

.Formica is very paintable and a lot cheaper then replacing. Do you have any idea of a style that you would like to accomplish?

There is a product that is similar to paint that will make counter tops look like granite. It was purchased at Home Depot (was given to me when I moved into the house)...takes 3 days to set so counter is out of use for a few days. Plus the are helpful on different treatments available for that type of remodel.

there is a wonderful product called Giani granite, its a kit to paint formica counters, I have tried it and its so cool , they have a website where you can order or I have seen video's on youtube with great ideas as well.
