Easy Real Oak Leaf Wreath

This is a super easy fall wreath that you can make in about an hour - but it makes a big statement when finished!
All you need are some fallen leaves from your yard - I used oak leaves from my in-law's! They have beautiful oak trees and there were loads of gorgeous leaves on the ground! I gathered a couple bags full for this project.
You will need two more items from your local craft store - a straw wreath form and metal floral pins (or U pins) to attach the leaves to the straw form.
I put together a bundle of leaves and then pushed the U pin into the straw wreath to hold the leaf bundle in place. Then I did the same on the right and left sides of that original bundle. Now, begin a second row - slightly overlapping the leaves so the stems don't show. Continue the process the entire way around the wreath.
This makes for an incredibly full and lush fall wreath. The leaves will dry and crinkle, but it still looks beautiful! I made this two weeks ago, and it still looks amazing!

Can you spray with clear poly to preserve the leaves?

I am so going to do this project this fall. I will probably do a few, as I would like to incorporate some beautifully colored red maple leaves, as well as some orange in with the brown leaves. I'm also thinking some small adornments like small pine cones, decorative foam pumpkins, corn / wheat sheaves, etc. would be amazing additions. Thank you for the inspiration!

Love the extras you want to add. My trees have seed pods that when dried would also look great.
