I know I have a store with a vast inventory of cool items but decorating with items that are simply lying around your home is just as easy! Wander from room to room and grab some items just like I do to set up a new display for the season.
I always use some sort of greenery, real or artificial. Something about plants just makes a vignette irresistible.
Remember to use different textures...glass, baskets, foilage, wood, fabric, metal.
Add some height to your display with taller baskets, floral sprays, twigs, vases, etc. A beautiful display uses items of varying height...tall, medium, flat and fat.
Piece things together! I grabbed the cover from a cheese dish, some gourds from storage, and this great little pedestal from the garden.
And then there is always a simple little eye catcher! Sometimes the item has the real WOW factor, like this rusty little truck and trailer. Sometimes you create your WOW factor by centering an item and building the display around it!
