Fall is full of activities and is my favorite time of the year. I almost didn't decorate this fall because we are moving soon to the new farmhouse, but I just couldn't let this beautiful season pass without adding a few touches of autumn as this will be my last fall is this home.

I started in my foyer, which you can view here at the Touch of Autumn if you missed it. My final space that needed fall decor was my kitchen nook, which is a space set at the end of my kitchen by a big set of open windows. The windows make for a beautiful view of all the fall colors, but with all the light streaming in, the light makes it difficult to get photos.

We purchased this farmhouse dining table, along with the benches from a local craftsman. This grand table has added a ton of seating in our kitchen, but it also saves space because the benches slide right under the table when we're not using them.

I wanted to keep with my love for neutral colors when I decorated for fall this year, so I skipped the typical oranges and reds for fall decorating and stick with a palette of whites, creams, taupe, and just a whisper of the traditional orange here and there. I wanted the seasonal decor to reflect my decorating style with natural colors. To keep things simple I added small hints of fall throughout the room. To me, it's the little simple things that make for beautiful decor...

Fall Tablescape

The table runner was made from burlap, see my DIY burlap table runner here, and I chose simple round, white plates paired with silverware and antique juice glasses that I have had for years. Do you have those little items that you just love? I enjoy our big, fancy table setting in the dining room, but our families favorite place for gathering and sharing a meal are right here at this simple farm table with all the boys and family gathered round, feels so special.

I used a greenery garland that I had left over from the Easter Wreath, to line the center of the table and white antiqued candle holders to add a touch of elegance. I did use a few pumpkins around the room, but I painted the small ones on the table with a white spray paint that I had on hand, to keep with our cozy, calm, farmhouse theme.
Other Farmhouse items in the Kitchen

I love the cozy feel of the kitchen nook, warm autumn sunlight that filters through the windows. It's a nice space to come home to!
